Extraordinary experience. After comparing few of the companies operating in Rio, we've decided on Rio Helicopters and started to arrange everything via Whatsapp. There was no problem with communication as there is a person fluent in English. After having arranged everything for the next day, we got very precise info on where to come, what to expect and so on.
After arriving, Mario - the owner - was waiting for us and took care of all the paperwork which took not more than 5 minutes and then we were transported to the Robinson 66 helicopter which was ready to start.
The pilot seemed to have a steady hand and he also told us what is there to see along the way. We went along the beaches, to Pao de Acucar and to the Christ Redeemer with two loops around it, to get the perfect view. In the end we saw the Favelas, Olympic Park, etc.
The trip may not be cheap but it's well worth the cost

FAQ
Will I share the helicopter with other people?
Only if you request to share. Otherwise the flight will be private, with the people of your reservation.
How many people per helicopter?
Rio Helicopters works with different aircrafts of different sizes, the most used aircraft being R44 and Jet Ranger, with capacity for 3 or 4 passengers respectively.
Can I choose to sit in the front or at the window?
As flights are always private, you and your flight companions can usually choose your seats. However, for safety reasons, the pilot in command is always in charge and may request changes if necessary.
Does Rio Helicopters follow all safety rules?
Yes! Our air operations meet all the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) requirements. We follow all aircraft maintenance and crew training rules. Our team is totally focused on the safety and satisfaction of our customers.
What is the weight limit for flying?
The limit is on average 130 kilos per seat, depending on the aircraft.
Can children and pregnant women fly?
Crianças até 2 anos não pagam e ficam no colo, contanto que mantenha o limite de peso por assento de em média até 130 quilos. É permitido 1 criança de colo por voo. Crianças com mais de 2 anos pagam como adulto e ocupam assento. Não há contra indicações para grávidas voarem de helicóptero, mas recomendamos sempre verificar antes com seu médico.
How long before the flight should I arrive?
We ask that you show up 40 mins before flight if you still need to make payments. I you have pre-paid; the arrival is up to 20 mins before the flight.
What happens if I am late or want to cancel my flight?
In case of delays your flight will be rescheduled according to availability and without guarantee that it will occur on the same day. You can reschedule your flight, but if you prefer to cancel it but have already pre-paid, we will refund 90% of the amount paid with up to 24 hours’ notice. In case of cancellations with less than 24 hours, the refund will be 50% of the amount paid.

Do I need a document to fly?
Yes, you must have an ID with photo.
Can I use my cell phone during the flight?
Yes, but there will be signal fluctuation.
Where is the meeting point and do you provide transportation?

What happens in case of bad weather?
If the weather is not as you wish for your flight and you prefer to reschedule, please contact us to asap. But if the weather conditions are so bad and take-off is not recommended, then our own team will contact you to reschedule.
If my flight is private, can I change the route?
The route of the panoramic flights cannot be changed on the spot, but you can request a personalized flight through our email: [email protected] [email protected]
I'm scared, will I be able to fly?
We understand your concern and we want to help you to have this incredible experience! We plan our flight so to make smoother manoeuvres and our pilots are very well trained and prepared to help in these situations.
